Fundamentals don’t count in sell offs

Investors Business Daily reminds us in this article that the earnings outlook remains strong for US stocks, despite international concerns about inflation and rising interest rates. According to Thomson Financial, S&P500 stocks are likely to generate a 11.2 per cent rise in second-quarter profits. But as Dr Wish points out, tech and growth stocks are being decimated. In big sell offs such as these fundamentals matter little and defensive strategies are warranted.
